Funding Options of Our Services
Understanding Your Aged Care Funding
After your aged care assessment, you will receive a letter outlining the funding you have been approved for. You may be eligible for one or more funding types. Some funding is available immediately, while other funding may require you to wait until an allocation becomes available.
Private Services
You don't need government funding to receive care at home.
Alder Care offers private services for people who would like to arrange support immediately, without waiting for an aged care assessment or funding allocation. Private services are also a great option if you would like additional support that isn't covered by your government funding.

Respite for family carers
Private services can be arranged as a one-off visit, short-term support or ongoing regular care. We will work with you to develop a personalised care plan that suits your goals, preferences and budget.
End of Life Pathway (EoL)
The End of Life Pathway provides short-term funding for people who wish to receive palliative and end-of-life care in their own home.
This funding supports additional care and services to help you remain comfortable, maintain your dignity, and spend time in familiar surroundings with the people who matter most.
Restorative Care Pathway (RCP)
The Restorative Care Pathway provides short-term funding for people recovering from illness, injury or a decline in function.
The aim is to help you regain your independence and confidence so you can continue living safely at home for as long as possible.
Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) provides entry-level support for people who need a small amount of assistance to remain living independently at home. Services may include:

Domestic assistance

Nursing

Allied health services

Meals and other basic supports

If you have CHSP funding, your approval letter will list individual service codes (for example, one code for domestic assistance and another for podiatry).
At this stage, Alder Care does not provide services under the CHSP. If you have CHSP funding, you may need to use different providers for different services. As CHSP providers and funding are limited, waiting times can sometimes apply.
The Australian Government plans to transition CHSP into the Support at Home program from around 2028.

Home Modifications (HM)
Home Modifications funding helps pay for changes to your home that improve safety and accessibility.
Examples include:

Grab rails
-
Ramps
-
Bathroom modifications
-
Other accessibility improvements
Like Assistive Technology funding, Home Modifications funding may be approved independently or together with a Support at Home package and is generally available immediately.
Assistive Technology (AT)
Assistive Technology funding is a separate, short-term budget used to purchase equipment that helps you remain safe and independent at home.
Examples include:

Wheelchairs

Shower commodes
-
Walking aids

Pressure care equipment
AT funding can be approved on its own or alongside a Support at Home package and is generally available immediately once approved.
Support at Home (Levels 1–8)
If you were assessed from November 2025 onwards and require ongoing care, you may be approved for a Support at Home package.
Support at Home funding is provided as an ongoing quarterly budget, with funding levels ranging from Level 1 (lower support needs) through to Level 8 (higher support needs).
Your approval letter will also indicate your priority for receiving funding. Depending on demand, there may be a waiting period before your package is allocated.
While waiting, some people may be offered a Minimum Service Offer (MSO), which provides approximately 60% of their allocated funding so that essential services can begin sooner.
